THE BEST NEWS I BROUGHT BACK FROM INTERSOLAR WASN’T AT OUR STAND

It may sound strange.

But the best news I brought back from Intersolar in Munich was seeing other photovoltaic manufacturers trying to develop lightweight solar panels.

— “Are you happy about that, Chema? Aren’t they new competitors?”

— “Of course they are!”

— “Then…?”

So why do I see it as good news?

Because it means the market has already understood where photovoltaics are heading.

A few years ago, very few of us were talking about reducing weight, eliminating drilling, or installing solar panels on roofs where conventional panels simply weren’t a viable option.

Today, more and more companies want to enter this market.

The bad news for them is that you don’t lead a trend simply because many others arrive.

You lead it because you’ve been developing it for years.

And that’s where I confirmed something we already suspected.

Polyshine is still several steps ahead: customizable colour options, an anti-dust coating, new power outputs of up to 580 Wp…

When you compare products, finishes and solutions, you realise that simply manufacturing a lightweight panel isn’t enough.

You have to do it right.

And that was probably the greatest satisfaction I took away from this edition of Intersolar.

I didn’t come back thinking we needed to change direction.

I came back convinced that, at ATRAE, we’ve been on the right path since 2018.
